Christmas is only a few weeks away! It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos, long checkout lines, and making a list and checking it twice.
But the Christmas season has a much different relevance for non-profit organizations. The Tuesday following Cyber Monday (December 3rd this year) is #GivingTuesday, a specific day that shifts the focus from getting to giving. #GivingTuesday is fueled by social media and collaboration between non-profits and the public who support them.
In 2019, The Soup Kitchen of Muncie served over 70,000 meals. We serve each person that walks through our doors a hot meal and a sack lunch for later. Some days this can be up to 150 people! From individuals to entire families, the daily numbers of those who rely on us for their daily sustenance continue to grow and The Soup Kitchen of Muncie doesn’t want to turn anyone away.
