Soup Kitchen of Muncie Addresses Noon Rotary

Bill Elliott representing the Soup Kitchen of Muncie presented to the Muncie Noon Rotary on Tuesday, April 25th. Matt Howell of Farmhouse Creative introduced Bill by recalling the story of how the re-branding project began for the organization. Mr. Elliott went into detail about the organization’s mission and goals.

Mr. Elliott went into detail of how the Soup Kitchen of Muncie is a very efficient organization achieving a $1.11 cost per meal in 2016. According to Feeding America, the average meal cost in Delaware County is $2.57 to feed the hungry.

 

Did you know the Soup Kitchen of Muncie served 70,000 meals in 2016?

Mr. Elliott took questions at the end of the presentation from the lively Rotary group in attendance. One of the questions was does the organization feed children as well as adults? The answer is yes. Another question was asked about volunteers. Mr. Elliott responded that the organization is always looking for new volunteers. Volunteers are only allowed to work twice a week to keep from burn out and so that the organization does not solely rely on a few people to do so much good work.
