This #GivingTuesday, November 28, Give Us Some Oven!
The Soup Kitchen is excited to be a part of this year’s #GivingTuesday campaign by asking our supporters to “Give us some oven!” By the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, November 28, we are hoping to raise $6,300 to purchase a new double convection oven for the kitchen, which will double our cooking capacity and help us feed the increasing number of guests we’re seeing faster and better. Over the past year, we’ve seen a 25% increase in the number of people coming to the kitchen for a warm meal. In addition, we are always striving to serve our guests the freshest, most nutritious meal possible, on the smallest budget possible. Trying to make upwards of 150 meals in two and a half hours each day can mean a lot of traffic jams at the oven! A Vulcan VC55E Electric Convection Oven will make us so much more efficient and confident we can meet the rising need of hungry families in Muncie.

Giving Tuesday kicks off the holiday giving season and inspires people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
