Volunteer-The dictionary tells us, is a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task.
Tonight we had a wonderful dinner celebrating and thanking our many volunteers that do the work of the Soup Kitchen of Muncie.
Our 25th anniversary for the soup kitchen is coming to an end. We have been celebrating all year, since we turned 25 in February. We wanted to honor the men and women who work everyday Monday -Friday to help us complete our mission in feeding the hungry in Muncie and surrounding community.
The soup kitchen has volunteers from all walks of life. Teachers, Nurses, Housewives, Factory workers, Business people, Pastors ,Entrepreneurs, Retired, and Students. I have been thinking that in life people cross your path for a reason and our many volunteers have honored the soup kitchen by crossing our path with theirs, and willing give of themselves for a greater cause. We have volunteers who have been with us for over 20 years, all the way to some who have been with us for just 2 months. We are thankful for their dedication to our mission.
What a great time we had tonight recognizing these people and hopefully they know how appreciated they are, without them we could not achieve what we do each day. Feed the hungry!
If you think you might like to volunteer, just fill out the volunteer form on our website and we will be in contact. Please enjoy these pictures from our gallery of just a few of our volunteers that come every week to work and serve others .
